An extensive and growing body of evidence suggests that urban living contributes to the development of psychosis; However, the mechanisms underlying this phenomenon remain unclear. This project will attempt to spatialise psychosis within the urban context to create a form of architecture that will help mitigate/reduce the development of psychosis in the urban environment.
In the first section of my Thesis project, I was encouraged to conduct my initial research via exploring and experimenting with the creative process. As a result, I used a wide range of experimental creative methodologies inspired by existing artists to research the condition of psychosis in the form of 'performances'. Part 1 of this project lays the foundation and begins to spatialise the condition of psychosis culminating in a redesign of an existing apartment complex in part 3.
